Tune files built by the person who reverse-engineered the ECU

Custom ECU and TCU files, WinOLS map packs and DAMOS files for cars, utes, trucks, bikes, marine, plant and agricultural equipment. WhatsApp Josh directly and deal with the person building your file — or upload at tacfiles.com for an automated return.

Why tuners switch to us

Most file portals are a queue: your read goes in, a file comes out, and the person who made it is someone you’ll never speak to. This is different.

One person, start to finish

Josh reverse-engineers the ECU, writes the definitions, builds the file and answers the phone. If something behaves oddly on the car, you’re talking to the person who knows why.

Our own definitions

Map packs and DAMOS files come from our own firmware disassembly — torque structure, limiters, diagnostics and all — not a renamed copy of someone else’s list. That’s why the map names mean something and why we can extend them.

10–20 minute hand-built files

During business hours, a read sent by text or WhatsApp comes back as a hand-built file in 10–20 minutes. No batch queue, no overnight wait.

Platforms the big portals skip

Isuzu Transtron (4JJ1, 4JJ3, TCU), Toyota Denso Gen 1–3 including the new 48V Hilux, Mitsubishi SH-series, Transtron and Denso on plant, Bosch EDC17CV on tractors and mowers — the Australian and Japanese platforms European portals treat as an afterthought.

Built from your read

Every file is developed from the vehicle’s own binary, validated against our dyno-tested calibrations in Melbourne. Nothing generic, nothing patched from a different software version.

Supported after delivery

If a vehicle logs something unexpected, send the log and we revise the file. Map-pack customers get help finding and understanding maps, not a shrug.

How it works

  1. Send your read. Text or WhatsApp it to Josh with the vehicle, ECU/TCU, your tool and what you want — or upload at tacfiles.com.
  2. We build the file. Hand-built in WinOLS from your binary using our own definitions. Typically 10–20 minutes during file-service hours (9am–9pm Mon–Sat AEST); same-day for plant and unusual platforms.
  3. Flash and drive. Your tool handles the checksum. If anything needs reviewing, text us.

Reads in any native tool format: KESS, K-TAG, PCMFlash, CMD, Dimsport, BitBox, Autotuner, Flex, MagicMotorsport, bFlash and more.

What we supply

Pick what suits how you work — a finished file, the definitions to do it yourself, or both. Logging and diagnosing on the car? DynoTrace is our own J2534 data logger, before/after log viewer and WinOLS live map visualiser — A$375 a year, any pass-thru interface.

Custom tune files

Stage 1 and 2, towing, economy, DPF/EGR/AdBlue solutions, DTC work, speed and rpm limiters, TCU shift and torque tuning. From $75 for a stock/original file and from $275 for a modified file; trade and volume pricing by arrangement.

WinOLS map packs & DAMOS

Full definition sets for a calibration so it opens as a readable WinOLS project — engine torque structure, injection, rail, boost, EGR/DPF/SCR control, limiters and diagnostics. Supplied with the tune or on their own.

Multimap / map-switch builds

Custom code work on supported Denso and Transtron platforms so the driver can switch calibrations from the cabin. Quoted per job.

Firmware decompile for new platforms

When a new calibration lands (like the 48V Hilux FAN90), we decompile it and build definitions from scratch rather than guessing. Commission us for a platform your business needs.

Trade accounts

Regulars get an account on tacfiles.com with their own pricing, order history and files on file. Text to set one up.

Plant, ag, marine & bikes

Tractors, excavators, mowers, trucks, boats and bikes get the same treatment as a ute — from the machine’s own read, with the diagnostic side handled properly.

Questions tuners ask

How fast do I get a file?

Hand-built files are typically returned in 10–20 minutes during business hours (9am–9pm Monday to Saturday AEST) when you text or WhatsApp your read. Portal uploads at tacfiles.com return automatically when a matching project exists.

Do I deal with Josh directly?

Yes. WhatsApp 0466 659 997 or WhatsApp and you’re talking to the person who builds the file and wrote the definitions. The portal is there if you’d rather have an automated return.

Are the map packs your own work?

Yes — built from our own firmware disassembly. That’s why we can add maps on request, explain what a limiter does in the code, and support platforms like Transtron and Denso Gen 1–3 properly.

What does a file cost?

From $75 for a stock/original file and from $275 for a modified file. Trade accounts get their own pricing; map packs, DAMOS files, multimaps and new-platform decompiles are quoted per job.

Do you handle checksums?

Your flashing tool does — every current tool corrects checksums on write. Files are supplied without checksum correction so they work with whatever tool you use.

Where are your customers?

Core base in Australia, with files supplied daily to New Zealand and to tuning professionals in the UK, Europe, North and South America and Asia-Pacific.
