Our motto when it comes to Vehicle Fault diagnostic is Test don’t Guess. This for us means that for us to confirm any failed part and recommend our customers spend their hard-earned money on a repair we need to be certain the part is faulty. Our specialist Diagnostic technician does this by following a strict diagnostic procedure that leads us to the failed component via logical, non-intrusive testing procedures. This method of diagnosing complex faults with modern vehicles means that we can provide our customers with a full test report including all our steps, measurements, and test procedures to prove our failed part and provide the most cost-effective first time fix possible

Can’t I just clear the fault code with a scan tool?

No. clearing fault codes does not fix the vehicle. Your vehicles various control modules set fault codes to help the technicians identify the problem at hand, a fault code is just a direction and a logical, non intrusive testing process stil needs to be carried out to verify that it is a component that is faulty and not an underlying wiring/ module issue. Clearing fault codes does not fix cars and fault codes do not tell you what the problem is, we don’t advise anyone to replace parts based on fault reports.

Why should I bring my vehicle to a specialist diagnostic repair shop over my local mechanic or service shop to have a fault diagnosed?

As with any issue, it is always more time-efficient, cost-effective, and reliable to have an expert in a specific field repair a certain problem. Most of your local mechanic shops, franchises, and dealerships specialise in the service and repair side of the industry, while this is good when it comes to having new tires fitted to your vehicle or an oil change performed this also means that the technicians in these shops do not have the time, training and equipment to diagnose complex electrical/ mechanical faults in modern vehicles. Also as these repair shops have to turn over cars quite quickly to hit their sales targets often the technicians, even if they want to do not have or are not allowed to have the time to dive in and diagnose a complex issue.
